ATLANTA, GA. and MELVILLE, N.Y., September 15, 2008 – Verint® Systems Inc. today announced the EdgeVR™, an enterprise-class Network Video Recorder (NVR) designed to extend recording, processing and powerful analytics capabilities to virtually any location on the network’s edge.
EdgeVR is the latest addition to the Verint Nextiva® IP video portfolio – a comprehensive, integrated suite of networked IP video solutions designed to address virtually every facet of an organization's video operations. For use in distributed IP and analog environments, the EdgeVR combines Verint’s powerful video analytics and remote monitoring and management software, providing end users with all the benefits of an embedded NVR, including bandwidth optimization, and remote access and management, as well as integrated powerful video analytics through Verint encoders. The result is an embedded intelligent video processor capable of recording and analyzing up to 32 channels of high resolution, high frame rate video at the point of capture and delivering it anywhere within the enterprise.

Built on an Internet Protocol platform and available in 16 and 32 channel configurations, the EdgeVR is fully integrated with award-winning Nextiva multi-port video encoders and includes Verint’s Nextiva Vid-Center and Op-Center monitoring and management software solutions. Vid-Center provides an intuitive user interface that displays up to 16 independent camera views on a single screen and facilitates user-defined zone views, virtual DVRs and guard tours. Op-Center provides diagnostic and management solutions on the EdgeVR enabling the user to centrally manage DVR passwords, properties and firmware updates. To avoid compromising network bandwidth and resources when transporting video data, the EdgeVR supports the latest video compression standards including H.264 and MPEG-4.
