Five Minutes With . . . Verint’s Jeff Johnson

Lily Cleary November 19, 2024

In the ‘Five Minutes With...’ series, we will be asking a wide range of our Verinteers the same six questions. This allows us to hear new ideas, share fresh perspectives, and showcase the talent that exists within our company.

Next up, Jeff Johnson!

Name: Jeff Johnson

What is your job title: Director, Business Development

Please describe what you do day-to-day in one sentence (your description can be as serious, or as fun, as you’d like).

I am the director of a group of all-stars known as the Business Development team. This diverse group of individuals at Verint do so much for Verint, and my job is to keep them supported and pointed in the right direction!

Name a distinct moment in your career that has had a significant impact on you. Why was it impactful?

So many things have shaped my career, but there’s one moment I will always remember as a very young professional. I spent my first five years out of college working for a small marketing firm. My next gig was with a Fortune 500 tech provider. My second day on the job was the first day of the annual major client conference. I just remember walking into the Solutions Lounge, and it hit me like a ton of bricks that I had made it to the BIG LEAGUES!

What would you tell your past self on your first day at Verint, considering your current experience and perspective?

You’ll get there! Stay calm; what you are doing is BIG and is going to make a difference!

How do you navigate change when working in an industry where technological advancements are constant?

KISS: Keep it Simple, Stupid….You can always learn and adapt if you just focus on what’s important, why it’s important, and build off that. Change also impacts you less when you are productive and successful, so I always focus on what I can control and doing the best possible job at it.

Tell us about one of the role models that has contributed to your success and why.

I’ve been fortunate enough to observe some really good leaders that care and do the little things, which have left lasting impressions on the type of leader I try to be. But I have to answer in a cliche way that my parents and siblings have had such a tremendous impact on my success. They have taught me the value of hard work. Always make time to take a few extra shots, make a few extra calls, say thank you, send one last message, etc.

Your team was just given a TV show! What’s the title? Bonus point for the genre.

We would definitely be a reality competition show called Knock Knock.
