Five Minutes With . . . Verint’s Patty Amend

Lily Cleary October 16, 2024

In the ‘Five Minutes With...’ series, we will be asking a wide range of our Verinteers the same six questions. This allows us to hear new ideas, share fresh perspectives, and showcase the talent that exists within our company.

Next up, Patty Amend!

Name: Patty Amend

What is your job title: Sr. Program Manager, Finance

Please describe what you do day-to-day in one sentence (your description can be as serious, or as fun, as you’d like).

As some folks like to say, The Fire Extinguisher! LOL

Name a distinct moment in your career that has had a significant impact on you. Why was it impactful?

The day of 9/11 was very impactful to me. A co-worker came into my office to tell me the news. Such a tragic time for our country. But I also remember Verint’s unity. We were all there for each other. We held a gathering under the flagpole a few days later to honor those lost. It was very touching and heartfelt.

What would you tell your past self on your first day at Verint, considering your current experience and perspective?

Great question! I would tell my past self a line from the Bachman Turner Overdrive Band’s song, “You ain’t seen nothing yet!” You are fortunate to be part of the beginning of a masterpiece! And fast forward to the present, it came to fruition!

How do you navigate change when working in an industry where technological advancements are constant?

I embrace the change and get out of my comfort zone. I trust our leadership to guide us with the latest and greatest tech training to advance its employees forward in this fast moving, ever changing, environment.

Tell us about one of the role models that has contributed to your success and why.

To choose one role model would be so difficult in my 25 plus years at Verint. I have been so fortunate to work with the brilliance of Ryan Tate, Nancy DiVito and Rose Flore among others. You work stronger and more proficiently under their leadership and values. I also have “borrowed” favorable traits from so many fellow employees that I have met along my Verint Journey. So priceless!

Your team was just given a TV show! What’s the title? Bonus point for the genre.

A reality show, titled “The Closers” as the Finance team works so diligently to close the fiscal quarters and do the year-end reconciliation. They get it done!  Emmy Award nominees in this group for sure!
